FCEV – Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles

FCEV Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles

Electric vehicle that uses fuel cells to generate the electrical energy necessary to power the vehicle. Fuel cells convert hydrogen into electricity through an electrochemical process that reacts with the oxygen present in the air, generating as waste by-products only heat and water vapor. FCEVs require only a few minutes to recharge and have a greater range compared to other EVs; however, the charging network is still very limited today due to technical and infrastructural challenges as significant investments are needed for hydrogen production, and the low density of this element requires large tanks for storage and dedicated facilities.
