PHEV – Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle

PHEV Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle

It is a particular type of hybrid vehicle that can be powered by an internal combustion engine and one or more electric motors powered by a rechargeable battery.

The main difference compared to other types of hybrid cars is the ability to recharge the lithium battery of the electric motor through an external source, such as a home charging socket or a charging station. PHEVs are equipped with a battery larger than conventional hybrids and can travel longer distances and higher speeds in fully electric mode before switching to hybrid power.
