Charging mode

There can be different charging modes related to the various types of sockets and powers used to charge vehicle batteries. Generally, they are divided into slow, fast, and ultra-fast charging.

  • Slow charging is the most commonly used in home charging, has a power of less than 7 kW and requires more time to charge the vehicle. A full charge can take several hours and is typically used during nighttime.

  • Fast charging can be found at public charging stations, usually has a power greater than 50 kW which allows a charge in about 30 minutes.

  • Ultra-fast charging is found at the most recent charging stations and is often appropriately signposted in various dedicated apps. With a power of more than 150 kW, they are capable of charging a battery in less than 10-15 minutes.
