kW - Kilowatt
kW - Kilowatt
Unit of power measurement, that is, the amount of energy provided or used in a set unit of time. 1 kW is equal to 1000 watts (W). Within the context of electric vehicles, this term is used to measure the power of the electric motor, the charger, or the charging speed of the batteries.
For some examples: having a 7 kW onboard charger available, one can charge a 70 kWh battery in about 10 hours, an electric motor with higher kW (with the same weight) will allow for more dynamic driving and quicker acceleration, just as charging at a station with higher kilowatts allows you to get back on the road in reduced time.
