Single-phase (socket)

Single-phase (socket)

A single-phase outlet uses the standard residential electrical network with a single phase of alternating current, a practical and economical option for home charging of electric vehicles. These 7.4 kW wallboxes can fully charge a 60 kWh electric vehicle battery in about 8 hours, an ideal timeframe for overnight charging.

Due to their compatibility with existing home electrical systems, they can be installed with minimal modifications and at lower costs, thanks to their simpler design. While they offer slower charging speeds compared to three-phase systems, single-phase wallboxes are sufficient for most daily driving needs, especially for users who cover shorter distances and can charge during off-peak hours. However, for higher capacity batteries or for families that need to charge multiple electric vehicles simultaneously, the longer charging times and limited capacity may prove less convenient and prompt consideration of a three-phase charging system.
