V2H – Vehicle to Home

V2H Vehicle to Home

The V2H (Vehicle to Home) technology allows an electric vehicle to power a home with the energy stored in its battery pack. In this way, the car's battery becomes an alternative energy source, helping to reduce home energy costs and improve energy efficiency. The V2H system is particularly useful during peak consumption times or in case of power outages, as it provides a backup power source. An electric car equipped with V2H technology and connected to the home electrical system can thus be charged at night, when the cost of electricity is lower, and during the day power the home.

V2H is a direct application of bidirectional charging and therefore requires an inverter to convert direct current (DC) from the car's battery into alternating current (AC) that can be used in the home via the electrical grid. The forefront of this system is increasingly interesting to car manufacturers, who choose compatibility with VH2 technology for their electric vehicles. No longer just means of transport, but also sources of sustainable energy.
