When installing a wallbox for electric vehicle charging, safety and ease of use are essential. That’s why we designed the Dazebox *K: a solution that not only meets all regulatory requirements but also makes installation and maintenance simpler and more efficient. Thanks to a key-lock side door, the protections are easily accessible without needing to open the entire wallbox, saving time and streamlining the process.

Advantages of the Dazebox *K with Integrated Protection

One of the main features of this product is its built-in protection. This feature not only offers convenience but also provides significant advantages:

  • Installation Savings: With the integrated RCBO, there’s no need to install high-class protection in the main panel. Instead, a lower-class, more economical protection can be used, with the wallbox itself handling the task. The IEC 60364-7-722 European standard mandates that charging points must include a differential switch capable of detecting continuous leakage currents above 6 mA. This would require either a Type B differential or a Type A differential with a detector for these dangerous leakage currents. Dazebox *K already contains all these regulatory safety requirements internally.
  • Protection Selectivity: Selectivity is a key factor. In case of an issue, the protection that activates is the one within the wallbox, not the one upstream in the main panel, often located farther away. This enables quicker and more convenient resets, minimizing inconvenience for the user.
  • Uncompromising Safety: With the wallbox’s integrated protection, we eliminate the risk of using unsuitable solutions, thereby enhancing the overall safety of the charging system.

Multiple Installations and Cost Savings with Daisy Chain Configuration

In addition to single installations, the Dazebox *K is also ideal for multiple installations, such as in condominiums or corporate environments. Thanks to the “daisy chain” (enter-exit) configuration option, installation becomes much simpler and more cost-effective than traditional star configurations, which require additional cabling and protection panels.

If you’re looking for an even more advanced solution for managing multiple installations, we recommend Dazebox Share, which not only facilitates daisy chain power configuration but also allows easy Ethernet cable connections, enhancing communication among different charging stations.

Regulatory Compliance and Guaranteed Safety

Our solution at Daze, with a built-in RCBO, complies with safety standards. These standards require compliant and certified protection devices according to IEC 61009-1, a guarantee we provide with our Dazebox *K units. This level of compliance is not achievable with solutions that rely solely on electronic protection systems, making our option not only certifiable but also the safest choice for users.

Spain’s Requirements: Additional Regulations

In Spain, specific safety measures are required for wallbox installations, differing from those in other countries. Here are some of the additional requirements:

  • SPD (Surge Protective Devices) must be placed near the charger.
  • Both permanent and transient overvoltage protection is mandatory.
  • An automatic meter reset is required in the event of a failure.

Our Dazebox *K fully meets these requirements:

  • It integrates automatic reset functionality (present in previous models).
  • It includes internal protections, such as both permanent and transient overvoltage devices, also available in a three-phase version—an uncommon feature in the wallbox sector.

The key-lock side door makes it easy to access protections without opening the entire wallbox.
